More often than not, when updating in InDesign (CS6) a link to an InCopy (CS6) document edited by an author, I get the warning:
Edits have been made to the imported version of "story_name.icml".
You will lose these edits by updating. Update anyway?
Now I can't see how this can be:
- I have to check out the document to edit it. While it is checked out to me, the author can't make any edits.
- Likewise, the author has to check it out to make edits, and during that time I can't edit it.
So how is it possible that edits could have been made to my version that will be lost when I update to the author's latest version?
