Copyfit Reports Wrong Lines Over/Under
Using inCopy 2015, Copyfit sometimes reports the wrong number of lines over or under. Most recently, a story that was 4 lines too long was reported as 56 lines under. What gives?

Assignment has been updated since it was packaged
In indesign, under the assignment panel, I see the following message: "assignment has been updated since it was packaged"
Is this an error? What should I do?

Can I edit InDesign CC files using InCopy CC? Or is it preferred to use InCopy CC?

Automatic loading of paragraph style for InCopy from InDesign?
After I create a new empty text box in InDesign and add it to the assignment for InCopy, how do i get all of my paragraph styles to automatically appear in the InCopy document? right now, only 1 style is there when opened. The copywriter is having to load them for each text box.
All versions are most recent as of yesterday March 2nd.

Copy/Export Notes Inline?
Does anyone know of a way (script, maybe) to copy notes inline with text from InCopy or to export to RTF inclusive of notes?
I know each note can be individually copied and pasted, and that they can be exported to PDF, but I'm trying to work out how to copy a passage containing notes and paste into Word with the notes intact, or export to RTF with the same result.

InCopy .icml gets corrupt by adding copy twice with garbage
Working with InDesign CS6 & InCopy CS6. Making assignments works fine out of InDesign but then when the editor works and saves an assignment via InCopy the .icml file goes corrupt. I open the .icml file in Text Wrangler, I find that InCopy had not saved the file incorrectly. The coding is in there twice, I delete the second copy which has garbage in it, them file is ok again. This bad file crashes InCopy and InDesign when trying to update.
We are running Box with sync folders. Any solution?

Export multiple rtf to InCopy files
hi,
I'm using InCopy CC.
I created an assignment file (by exporting all the stories of the InDesign file). Then in InCopy, i opened the assignment (22 individual InCopy files) and exported those to rtf files.
Now, after i've received the files back from the editor (22 rtf) i wanna save all of the back to InCopy so i can update them in InDsign.
InCopy's built-in script does not have this option (like the one i used to export all multiple InCopy file of the assignment to rtf).
Is there a way to do that without manually saving every file back to InCopy format?

Script for exporting to pdf with security? (InCopy/InDesign on PC)
Hi,
I couldn't see this obviously, but suspect it's a common question. I need a way to apply security on pdfs on export from InCopy (or InDesign) - allowing commenting, but not editing - to discourage our clients (academic authors) changing the pdfs.
Individually, we can do it, but looking to save time because we export 100s of papers (and you can't save pdf security presets) with a script. Does anyone have a quick way? Please.

indesign - incopy
When I send a file and open icap in InCopy get this warning: the file does not exist, it does not have the appropriate permissions or may be used in another application. And they can not open. How do I solve it?
Cuando envío un archivo icap y lo abren en el incopy sale este aviso: el archivo no existe, no cuenta con los premisos necesarios o puede estar utilizándose en otra aplicacion. Y no lo pueden abrir. Como lo soluciono?

Display font in Incopy
The Adobe InCopy CC Help book says on page that "The Galley & Story Appearance toolbar at the bottom of the workspace controls several settings that you might want to change frequently when working on a document. These settings include: Display font type and size."
I cannot find any option at all in that toolbar to change the display font type or size.
Can someone please help me figure this out?
I am running the 2015 CC release of Incopy on Windows 10.

InCopy CS4 installation
My employer gave me two different CDs of CS4 to install on my home computer so I can work from home.
Adobe says the serial numbers for both are invalid.
What now?

Link InCopy files to multiple InDesign docs
If i have common text thats used on different InDesign Docs, can i link the InDesign files to a common set of InCopy docs and as such only update one InCopy Doc to update all the InDesign docs?
I hope that makes sense.

Text is going missing from InCopy frames
I work in magazine publishing and we use Google Drive for all our file storage. We have had some problems on some of our publications where an editor will enter text in an InCopy assignment, check the text back in, save it and close the document. They show that the file syncs up to Drive, but no one else can see the text they entered. The editor who entered and saved the text will then open their file and, lo and behold, all of their text is gone. A similar thing will happen when making changes. An editor will make changes to text that's already in the document, but then after saving and syncing up to Drive, the changes disappear, leaving only the text that was there before the changes were entered.
We've checked for conflicted files and see none. We tried Dropbox for awhile and encountered similar problems, though less frequently. When working locally on our network we almost never have problems like this. It seems like this could be a situation of InCopy not playing well with Cloud file sharing sites. This situation happens more with some editors than others, and we're willing to entertain the possibility that user error is causing this issue, but we can't for the life of us figure out where such errors might be occurring.
What can we do to prevent text or changes from going missing in the future?

inCopy error when login with SmartConnection
Hi everyone,
I had to install Adobe inCopy for Clients in my workplace. After installing it I use a SmartConnection and a patch installer on it. It succeed for almost all clients except one, which I always get the error when connecting with the SmartConnection. When I open the event Logs it says that it is related to the plugin public.dll.
I have been installing it again and again and it is always the same error who pop up.
The client is a 64Bit running windows 7.
Some help would be welcomed.

Repositioning images in InCopy
I want to set up my InCopy file so that others on my team can edit and re-position graphics. In InCopy, when I click on the graphic box, then go to File > Check out, the "Check Out" command is grayed out. Does any one know how to check out a graphic in InCopy? I have exported the graphics as assignments.

Complicated InCopy Problem/Bug
I setup an InDesign project file (created on a Mac) for InCopy (on a PC). I created the assignment file, exported the stories, added them to the assignment, and then updated the assignment file through InDesign. When the InCopy user opens up the assignment file, some of the stories are unavailable for check out. There is a pencil mark next to the story and a red circle next to it. When I go back into the Indesign file and check the assignment, I noticed all the stories are checked in. Why is it that the InCopy user is unable to checkout those stories?
Some trouble shooting steps I took:
1. Recreated assignment file and stories.
2. Deleted InCopy preferences folder on the PC
3. Opened up individual stories and check them back in
4. Disabled all master page links
5. Both programs have latest updates installed
After completing the trouble shooting steps, the problem still persists.
Any solutions would be great.

Can InCopy user send to print
I am not very familiar with InCopy, but I need a quick advise.
Is it possible for me as a designer to set up a layout on our server and afterwards letting the customer do some editing and also the final print pdf?
Is it also possible for the customer to insert new photos in the predefined frames?

Text flow problem
We're currently trialing CS5.5 ID and CS5.5 IC. When I 'Package for Incopy' and my editor opens the .icap file sometimes the text flows over by a line or two. I thought I'd pinpointed it down to hypenation but it's also returning whole words onto the next line causing the text to overrun the text box. Any suggestions as to why this is happening much appreciated. Thanks.
